    Hi,

As the title says the bike develops a miss after riding for a period of time.  Its stock except for a Stage 1 setup with a Dobeck Gen 3 fueler (it does the problem with and without the fueler)

    • Seems to start once things have warmed up and then gets worse (over a 45 min period)
    • ONLY happens when the throttle is held just a fraction open when cruising or when changing gears
    • Does not happen during accelleration at all
    • Bike is not throwing up any diagnostic codes
    • Cleaned inside the Throttle body, plugs look clean, cables look okay

Could this be a crank position sensor on its way out?

Any thoughts would be most welcome as its giving me the chits....

    IAC might be rooted.

Cheers...Sprayed Contact Cleaner into the other week but everything looks clean (bike only has 35,000km on the clock)

    What about the TPS?

just a thought but possibly a vacuum leak? only reason I say is cause you get the miss after it's warmed up and it could be a leak that is only evident when at operating temp?

If you were to hold the throttle slightly open in neutral and the miss happens, you could find it by spraying a little WD40 around the intake manifold area to try and locate it?

you will know it's a vaccum leak if you spray some carb cleaner (cover your tank/paint for f&&ks sake) and if the revs pick up theres the problem.

the IAC issue is so common I'd put money on that though.

Update: Lesson here is to NOT remove the IAC Assembly, plug the wiring harness back in and then start up the bike! Little bits of IAC end up flying around the shed as the motor inside it unwinds...lol... Once I picked up the pieces I noticed that everything was actually very very clean ie no carbon or gunk build-up.

Have ordered a new IAC (they are only $65 from Harley Heaven so that's not too bad) and will install this evening to see if the miss is cured. I'm still leaning towards the TPS, but lets see what a new IAC does first.
