I've changed from Firefox to Chrome

Folks, I've finally had a gutful of Firefox crashing everytime I accessed this site or had it open in the background. (Some sort of ongoing plugin failure) The Internet forums are full of people with the same issues. Not only on this site but others. No amount of updating plugins helped. Users begging Firefox to do something about these issues appears to have fallen on deaf ears. My memory usage in Firefox would blow out to 500mb + with even a few tabs open.

IE is not an option so I have changed to Google Chrome today (a very painless process) after a recommendation from a work IT guru and my initial experience is that it is a lot faster loading threads and moving backward and forward through topics. The shortcuts for opening closing tabs is the same.

I guess time will tell wherther the improvements are lasting. Has anyone else had or considering a similar change.

I've been using chrome for a few years now.  I never liked fire fox, & windows exploder (explorer) was shite.

Meh, when Firefox came out everyone was raving. Then they filled their browsers up with shit (add ons, extensions etc) and wondered why it wasn't as great as it used to be. Now people are going to Chrome and it's great - probably until they fill it up with shit.
I like Firefox - when I learned what shit to load and what not to I was happy.
If it starts crashing, I might try Chrome for awhile.

I have tried chrome but in forums some words seem to be highlighted and when you click on them you get adds...Also last night when I closed it I had about 10 open folders all associated with gambling and casinos...

I haven't used IE since windows 95, I did use Firefox for a long time but the last few years I've been using Chrome. I do NOT regret changing, whilst it's not perfect it's been pretty good.

I don't know if anyone has noticed. Chrome can still be running a couple of instances of itself (task manager) even if not open. Doesn't seem to affect performance.

Meh, Chrome constantly has runaway memory leaks, I can't deal with it, it's bloody awful for a "lightweight" browser. That new Spartan thing is shaping up alright, see how that goes when it gets closer to release.
