92 fxr has a random miss start?will do it one time on a days ride

Could be multiple things more info needed ,what do you mean by mis start

sorry what imean is starter doesnt engage and makes a loud screech but the next press of the button starts fine maybe the spring on the jackshaft is getting tired?

I have had that issue and it was the starter clutch or bendix or whatever you want to call it.

use to be around 150-190 bucks you will have to clean da soleinoid out or kit it,i haven't done any its how she came with drop in cams & 45 mic flat slide , racing her this year stock 1999 88 ci stock heads stock pistons, need to aim for 11.00 sec flat in the 1/4 mile

I have a starter clutch for $50.00 if that helps. It has part number 400111 on it, which Spyke list as the one for you? I have had it for a long time, but just would never need it. Brand new in a sealed bag in the box. I think it is a Spyke heavy duty type.

Yep what kiwi said nippion denso ,I just recently used a harley starter solenoid repair kit in my hilux as I had it on the shelf $20 dollar fix instead of $150 rebuilt starter

Ended up being a sus battery but will keep a close eye on the starter
