Got a Michelin Commander rear tyre(200mm wide) with 8000 Ks on it. Still got a bit of life left in it, however I have got a 3000-4000 KLM trip coming up and wondering if it'll go the distance.

Would be interested to hear of what mileage others have got out of theirs.

As per normal really, plenty on the sides but center tread all gone, no canvas showing, but think it would have been risky to have planned a 1000 K ride.

Not sure how much rubber left after the tread has gone on the Commander II, but most tyres seem to get to the canvas pretty fast at that stage.

Will go to the trouble of cutting a section of the next one to see.

Just rubbed out the last of my tread grooves on mine. 8000k's. Was hoping for more but I do give it a hard time.

I have Michelin Commander 2, tyres front and rear.  On FXST with 200 rear end. Done just under 10,000km so f. rear still looks barely worn, so hoping on doubling that, at least. Front sould ge at least another 7000km or 8000km. Very happy with them in all weather.

    Good Oh!

    Thanks for the responses.

Swung by the local Harley shop today to see what they reckon. As they change tyres all the time and you would reckon know how worn one was.

Answer  was go for it , change it when you get back. In fact it's only half worn!

If I get 16000 ks out of a rear tyre I will eat my........cor blimey........underpants.

I got 38,000km out of my last rear commander. I'm picking I weight more than most riders to and thats riding in all conditions.
