Pro pipe vs Big radius?

Im after some opinions I suppose.  I want to fit a 2 into 1 onto my 07 fatboy.  Vance and Hines seem to be the go unless anyone else can throw something in the mix?   Im just wondering if any of the learned people on the forum can give an opinion, be it techical or otherwise as to the main difference with these two pipes.  I have heard both on bikes and the pro pipe seems to be a lot quieter but growls into life on acceleration.  I currently have what I think are some sort of drag pipe on the bike (on it when I got it) and they are very loud and probably not doing much for the back pressure/performance etc.

I know its an open question and probably up for personal preference but just thought Id throw it out there.

    Thnaks.

Mate everyone's going to have an opinion on this one.
Mine is that I don't like V &H , they are probally the worst performance pipe,
loud and obnoxious and every man and his dog had em.
I prefere the 2 into 1s, for sound , looks and performance.
There is so many better brands then V&H.
D&D, rinehart , bassini are but a few. Google will help you

2-1 pipes are usually quieter and arguably out perform most 2-2 pipes down low and in the midrange. But they get louder when you open the throttle wide.

If you see what 2-1 pipes are being used on built motors in the USA and recommended by shops that do heaps of these builds, the common ones used over and over are the rb racing (loud, expensive, shit service and long waits but good quality), d&d fatcat for motors up to 107ci, and supertrapp supermeg (the quietest).

Some don't like the look or sound of a 2-1 but I like mine.

The V&H Big radius 2-1 (as opposed to the 2-2 !) is actually a decent performing pipe, speaking from first hand experience.
It doesn't appear to suffer from the torque dip that others do, and it's reasonably quiet .
There are a few version's of the Pro pipe, and they can be fussy on the engine spec' , so a bit hard to comment.

The beauty of the supertrapp muffler is that you can add or subtract discs to change the flow/back pressure/noise. So you can effectively tune the exhaust to suit the bike. No 2-1 dip...

Speedster is spot on with the big gay radius it actually performs well but it will scrape everywhere on a Fatty. Look at the D&D Low Cat and Bobcat they work well, Look good and hard to scrape, Rinehart look good on a Fatty swell and work good
I am with Chris avoid V&H at all cost

I have V&H big radius on my 2013 fat bob. nice pipe good sound. scraping is an issue, as Ando says I am just about thru the heatshield at the front. also I have touched the back of the pipe when hitting bumps in corners and now the heat shield has a crack in it as well as a broken weld on the hose clamp on the inside of the heat shield which attaches it to the pipe. I am not sure that I would go down this path again.... I have been thinking about a D&D Fatcat.....

The big radius 2-2 scraped on my fatty, even with foot boards attached

Berms, If you look closely at the softail 2-1, it is actually higher than 2-2 version, and also the Dyna 2-1 version.

Had the Pro-Pipe for a few years... awesome sound, but pire scrapped and the finish was crap. Purchased in 2009 and removed 2012.

hey berms here is a pic of the damage I have done to the heat shield on the pipe coming from the front jug. This pis is now a bit old. the heat shield is now showing more damage than this.

The front pipe sure sits low on the Dyna.
You need to weld on a titanium plate and make some coloured sparks !
Don't you find your foot gets knocked off the forward pegs before you ground the pipe ?
Time for a new pipe and some better/higher shocks .
