mine decided some time ago  to just not make a sound... its alive and working. the screen is opperating normally..  just no output...

choice 1  buy a new one   about $1200.... FARK OFF HD

get one rebuilt  about $350 pluss freight  to and from the USA  so probably over $400.

buy another unit that fits..  i think these start at about 400 in the USA  and there will be freight..

SO  i pulled mine appart. found the output chip (ic) and finally decided what it is  because there appears to be no information i could find online

 I did find a ton of unhappy customers but hardly any usefull information..

anyway  i finally confirmed my name for the device  and have found a hong kong supplier

final outlay  under $35 for 10 output chips  

will take me about an hour to fit mine and see if thats the go.

There's a mob selling jvc marine stereos reasonably priced on eBay that are being sold to fit Harley tourers. I came across them accidentally while searching for "road glide".

Fatbat is on the mark. I remember finding a good selection of marine stereo units a couple of years ago for my FLHT but did get one. New bike instead.

Quick search revealed some but not the company I found that I think was in Sydney.

Yep and also consider eBay item 271558427782. $300aud deliv from the USA and it appears to be ready for direct connection to the Harley loom and also has a thumb controlled joystick

thanks  guys   the point was though  that if the chip replacement works  it will cost me $2.20  thats $ 2   and 20 cents  plus an hour of my time..  which is a lot less that $300.00

if it works out  im happy to do the same for anyone else if they want,,  i have ordered 10 chips just in case..  if it doesnt fix the problem i will be a bit suprised  but only out of pocket $32.60 including freight.

Hey Oneup, I'll send you a PM as mine stopped working a couple of months ago. I checked the codes and it said it was a speaker problem. Can't remember the code off the top of my head. I checked the speakers and they are all fine. Did a google search and it's a common problem in the states apparently. Would be great if this would fix it.

How'd the fix go?
