Hi all, I live in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. My ride is an '08 XL1200N. That's her in my avatar. I've clocked up 4000kms since September and have loved every minute, even though the suspension is downright cruel.
Nice to find an Oz-based forum.
Yes to Bike Week; had a great time. And Yes I'm a lady rider. .... I get the feeling I may have been spotted, hope I wasn't playing up at the time
Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome aboard Trace............good to have another sporty on board

Hey John,
That'd be good. Don't really know the guys at M&W real well; though I've picked up a few odds and ends there. I went through Kingaroy for my bike; great bunch of guys up there too.
Morning Trace, Good to hear back, I havent had anything to do with Kingaroy but I know alot of folk have also gone to Toowoomba as well, Guess we all have our reasons. I might take a ride up to Kingaroy just to check them out. Over the years I have found most of the Harley shops to be OK fella's, All in the family.
Keep smiling
It is a great ride up there. I usually head up through Blacksoil-Esk-Wivenhoe, and come back via Kilcoy-Cabooture: 550kms round trip, unless it is just too tempting to go via somerset, or back through Mt Mee that adds a few kms but both are such fun roads. Only a couple of lumpy stretches on either route and that probably won't worry you to much with your softail :-) My hubby's family is in Kingaroy which was the initial connection, but the guys up there were right on top of the Nightster being added to the Oz sporty line-up and emailed me back in March to see if I was interested. Then got me in on the first shipment which arrived end of August. They were great - emailed photos from the dealer conference in the US of the different rear-end setup for Oz that wasn't on the web yet; then SMS'd photos of the crate when it arrived and the unpacking... phoned up so I could hear pipes with and without the quiet baffles etc. In all, a fantastic buying experience.
I still laugh at this photo that arrived on my phone on the Tuesday of Bike Week while I was standing looking at the black 1200N they had on display there... three days later and I was riding back on mine.
welcome trace.... I'm gonna have to chase up some more members, nearly as many sporty riders as there are sandgropers ////// sorry kc and his band of merry men and women...
gonna have to be carefull otherwise I might not be able to show ma ugly mutt in little 'ol Adelaide town next month

I have ridden all over up that way and enjoy it every time. Great open and long curves in places. Just makes you want to unwind your ride.
