Hey to all,
Just wondering if anyone can help me..I have a 1982 FLHS shovel head, just picked it up,the price was right, but it has had a sad life of past..
My problem is that the rear cylinder is puffing out white-ish smoke at idle,I don't think it's doing it when moving down the road.Is this valve guide oil seals? Or something more sinister..
I have a manual for the bike but the manual is not so forthcoming on diagrams or information in this area.(I'm not sure if this model has valve guide oil seals or not).
I do know it is registered as a 1981 FLH...But on researching the Vin number and engine number(Which are a match).I have found that it is a 1982 FLHS.
Any ideas out there?
Regards shovelDave..
Thank you KiwiDave,
You are so right with the new ownership thing,it always requires fixe$$$$$$..
It would b greatly appreciated if you could steer me towards someone who knows of a good Harley savvy machine shop..
I am going to check the cam bearing now, thanks for the advice..
Cheers..ShovelDave..
Thank you,I would like you to help me with a Harley savvy machine shop,I don't know of any except for Sys,and he can be very particular, but very expensive...
Cheers
Ok Shoveldave, There are probably only two guys left I know of in NSW that I would trust with a Shovel. The main one closer to you is Branko. He is at Yarramalong, this may look like a long way to go if you are near Liverpool, but he is the best. Have a look at his website here: http://www.brankobuilt.com.au Cheers, Cris. P.S: Cheers Dave, great to hear. Regards.
P.S.: Shoveldave, have a look at this place, I uploaded a big whack of tech manuals and info.
