Kevlar Gloves are great, when you buy your boots looks aren't important, they have to be comfortable.

here is some alternative to the kevlar, leather, boots, vest, you know all the "cool" stuff

were what ever you want to,
there is no law to say you have to wear it,
pushbike riders cruise around at near 60Km wearing lycra, would they look stupid in leather?
I am not saying wear lycra, but be dress to your level of comfort.
there is no reason you cant be an indervidual
next it will be mandatory to wear a huge belt buckle

I have mates that wear Work Boots with the steel caps, I tried it once didn't like it, couldn't feel the gear lever properly.

Just don't wear a Rebels Belt Buckle in Queensland, they will probably pull you up for it.

checkout the Revit Memphis H2O jeans. I wear these almost everyday and like them a lot. I'm not into branding and logos on my gear so there are plenty of choices now to buy decent clothes without looking like a billboard for the manufacturer.
Like others have mentioned, wear what feels comfortable and right for your needs.

Just mentioned the laces thingy about steel cappas (as you were thinking of using them to ride) I have above ankle workboots (like 6inch shaft) but I don't lace them all the way but wrap the excess lace around my ankle once then tie them. Cunts are always cummin undone at work. MC lace-ups will be just fine
