Whats the go with Open Belt Primary Drives here in NSW, are they a automatic defect or does luck count.

I can't imagine open/exposed primary complying with ADRs as the primary objective of ADRs is safety. So yes I bet you could get defected particularly since they're so obvious

As long as you cover enough of it so nothing can get caught in it, it will be legal. As fatbat said, it's all about safety

Isn't that where you stick the fingers you don't need.

I find it quite funny, almost hilarious, that we have to put on guards so people wont touch moving parts.

If ADR is all about safety, why are helmets from Europe that are sent to the States, are unsafe yet (now) sent here are fine?
why does everything already tested oversees not good enough for us?

I'm not sure if this applies to HD's as well but I'm aware of a number of Ducati riders who have been defected for having vented covers which sort of goes against the "it's all about safety" line because the vented cover stops body parts getting caught up in moving motor parts just as well as a full cover.

Hoping this is crap as i've just ordered mt BDL open drive for my rocker.

Got one on the softail been pulled up a few times, never even been looked at.

It's here, it's on and it looks and sounds great.

It hasn't got much of the rattle that seems to come through in the video but has a really sweet supercharger sort of whine. It's quite loud.

It came from this guy and was a great price with great service, i just emailed him on the addy below. He also has an ebay prescence for anyone who want's to pay extra for ebay protection. I highly recommend him based on my experience with him and will be using him again. My local Harley store wanted $5kau and i ended up getting it delivered for under $2kau.
