Getting very close to jumping all over a 2015 Street Glide special. Sales bloke suggested that rear suspension should be upgraded for 2 up touring. I have to be a bit careull describing my passengers and luggage requirements(otherwise approval for purchase may be  cancelled) Anyone clocked up some good km 2 up and loaded to capacity on the stock suspension.

The 12" stock shocks just do not have the travel for our roads , or 2 up riding . Constant bottoming out that would jar your back and make for a very bad riding experience . I purchased a pair of 340mm ( 13 1/2" ) YSS shocks from Walter at Angle Vale ( just out of Adelaide ) . The bike does not sit noticeably higher . He will set up shocks to your requirements . I just bought a $500- pair , but you can go up in the range and have more adjustments , rebound etc , for more money , around a grand .

2nd the shocks from Walter at YSS. I have 13"ones and very happy with them. Seeing as you are reasonably close get him to set them up foryou.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Have been a bit dissapointed  with the suspension on the '10 Roadking especially the front. Upgraded from the air to Progressive on the rear which did improve it a lot. Was just a bit blown away by the sales bloke recommending the change straight up when they have had such a good rap. Fuck me ya think they could get it better for the money. Anyway they rang and offered a test ride for next weeksurprise. See for myself.

I've done a few 5-600 km days 2 up loaded on my '15 SGS seems ok, gotta have the preload wound right up makes a huge difference. Still wallows a bit at speeds over 110/120kph tho. Wasn't very good when I got it tho, they come delivered with 0 turns on the spring, assuming to keep them sitting nice and low.

Give it a go first and see what you reckon. I know my bike is a 2012, but the air shocks work great for me, why spend money on things you can spend elsewhere? just saying.

Trading in the RK? I would have been interested, but I just spent 50K on a tractor / trailer package and another traytop, so I think might have to pay that lot off first.

crying Oh well, business before pleasure. Good luck with the new purchase. yes

Just finished 3000+ km around Tassie, 2 up and FULLY loaded. I'd say a little soft all round, rear spring wound up to max. However still able to lean both sides until stuff started scraping on the ground.

    Hi All

Have a 2014 Streetglide, riding is generally two up. Trying to talk the Minister for Finance into a set of these :-)
