I had the big city thunder qq baffles in my v&h 2-2 big radius pipes fitted to my flstf. The baffles were just what I wanted. They took the obnoxious bark out of the pipes but it was still nice and loud. The tone was deeper and I had noticeably more back pressure and low end throttle response. They'd want to be good given the cost!

will i have to get the bike re-tuned having a more free flowing exhaust?

it wouldn't be more free-flowing with baffles, it would be restricted.
What pipes are you putting the BCT baffles in?

V&H big radius 2-2. the stock baffles in the pipes are somewhat restrictive, the original monster baffles are open, look them up on the net

Firstly, Vance and hines don't make a quiet baffle for the 2-2 big radius.

Costy your take on things isn't right. The vance and hines baffles are straight thru and too open for most street use as they are very loud and lack back pressure. That pic you have may be a vance and hines baffle but it's been lolly popped with a washer to disrupt the exhaust flow to improve the above mentioned faults.

The big city thunder monster qq baffle I used is more restrictive again as it's a more restrictive baffle design coupled with their own lolly pop inside of the baffle. Your photos of this baffle don't show the inside of the baffle which is where it does its baffling. It's not all dependent on the length of the outside of the baffle which is what I think you were alluding to. Do a search on baffles or big city thunder on this site an you'll see a thread where I uploaded some pics. I cut my vance and hines baffles in half an welded the big city thunder baffles to them for extra baffling. It did exactly as I wanted and was still plenty loud.

If you want a noisy free flowing baffle without back pressure either run no baffles or the vance and hines baffle without the lolly pop washer bolted inside of yours.

If you want to quieten it down and have the benefits of more back pressure and less attention from the cops keep your lolly pops in and consider not spending more money on the big city thunder baffles which may not be much more effective than your existing lollypops.

    Hope this helps.

Costy all good. Hopefully this has saved you a few bucks. If you want more flow, remove your heat shields and take those bolts and washer out.
