suprised that Aussies dont seem to mod their baggers like they do in the US. Is there a reason big wheel conversions arent popular here. I havent seen a bike done yet, not on the road anyway. I love the look of some of the US bikes but not sure how they would ride or even if they would be legal here. I would love to own a custom but its fuckin expensive to do anything here. I would like to do the 26" front wheel and extended bags when funds allow. Does anyone know if the 26 can be done legally here.

Can't see why a big wheel like that couldn't be done legally as long as you find an approved engineer who endorses its safety.

Baggers are so soooo much more popular in the US than here.....we just aren't a big tourer market. You would be looking at serious coin to do a decent bagger mod......new wheel, modded guard and brackets, disk, caliper, forks, rake angle etc etc. Keep in mind it will be a little harder to steer into/out of small roundabouts....something the US roads don't have a lot of.....but it would look AWESOME !

Yeah I know it would be pricey, but certainly look cool.

Have to agree with you i love the look of some of the custom baggers but haven't seen any here on the street yet.

Same with any heavily customised bike with massive rake, high apes, big wheels, fat tyres, lowered etc

Love the look of the stretched baggers but daily ride or project to show. I'm for riding.

I don't know why you'd bother turning a bike built to be ridden into one that's terrible to ride?

riding them seems to be the big topic on the US forums, there is much debate about the big wheel and it seems to mainly come down to who does the job or which rake kit you use. Most seem to go 26 over 23 as they are known to ride better. Not sure if I will go with a big wheel or not but definitely keen on extended bags when funds allow, probably 4.5" ones as my bike is ridden a lot and I don't want clearance issues.

Not my idea of a ride I want in the garage ,,,  but, everyone has their own ideas, likes and dislikes !!!!

The US has a huge market for this sort of thing,, just look at all the TV shows, etc.   Also all the jobs and money that come from this industry..

The people that are into it ,,(like motor builders), are breaking the barriers in design and performance, that can eventuatly  get there way to the stock street bikes ....    Thing about it,,  if it was'nt for people with way out ideas, that were out of the norm,, we would'nt have the aircraft of today,, or the medication of today ,, or the internet ,, and many other things we take for granted !!!!    I say God love em  !!!!!

PS ,,  edit to my above comment,,  I really would'nt mind this bike in my garage for a few months so I could ride it,,,  as old and ugly as I am ,, I reckon , I could pick up a few classy  chickie babes...   Cheers ...

    $21K

07 Street Glide in Melbourne--- Was recently on Ebay 3 times , Unsold

    13000ks.

Looks like he has spent a shitload. And certainly more "rideable"

Apart from the paint i reckon that looks shit hot.

I would swap my 08 King in a second
