Thanks China, you are correct about the bars, it was the only I could think of doing them back then. The 2 levers were just for looks, but at one stage I had it connected to the advance for starting. Still had the foot clutch but I use to run mine with NO spring. a trick an ex YanK M/Police man showed me. The change on the tank! wish Harley still have it as an option. LOL

Love the high rise mirrors!  But there were lots of U.F.O's about in 1966, so maybe that explains it.

Also, quote( " it may not have gone fast";) <img src=" border="0" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif" /> ,but what really did back then?. My peddle trike went slower, so did mums Simca.

BTW Jimmy Ricar. Top name! Wish I was called that! Do women throw thier underpants and bras at you? lol.

Thanks for the great reply mate!

The good old days indeed. I was a first year apprentice in 1980. $65 bucks a week,20 bucks board,20 bucks to pay off bike and the rest was mine.

Oh what fun you could have for $25 a week.

I hope you still have your bike/s.

    Cheers
