26,800 kms on the clock and the brake side rear wheel bearing self destructs. Apparently the genius who designs these mag wheels don't think a shoulder on the drive side is needed, u just put excessive crush on the brake side bearing of the hub and that will locate the wheel. What happened to 2 shoulders for the bearings and a fitted spacer, gentle crush on the bearings and it will last a life time. 2 up on the bike 130kph back wheel goes into orbit brake carrier scored, mag hub worn away bearings spat out, fucxxx n far from home, good work HD how much money did that save u. Now ive heared its common to change bearings with every 2 tyre changes. What a crock of shit, ive got a 74 yammy with original bearings still going strong.

I cant disagree with you Duck !!!! Bearings , are one component that should be able to be installed without having to double guess,, have I done this ,, or have I done that !!!! Sure , change then every 50,000 or so ,, if it makes you sleep better at night ,, but it should'nt be because of incorrect install ,, which I believe has a lot to do with, what you hear about failed wheel bearings on Harley's ... !!!!

replaced the rear bearings on my 2007 Street Bob at around 75K... the guy fucked up removal and then tried to fit wrong bearings and cost be a new axle plus the additional labour... prick. Needed the bike back otherwise would have taken him to court.
