This question has probably been asked a few times but im unsure of which cams would suit my motor,i understand it comes down to each individuals riding style also. im after a low to mid range increase in torque, i would also like a lumpy idle, its a 2013 fatboy 103ci has SE heavy breather, V&H 2-2 big radius and i also bought the SE tuner but its yet to be plugged in and dynoed, ive read that the SE 204 cams will suit my motor as it hasnt had any major work done to the engine or can i go with something else, id prefer a lumpier sounding cam than stock but have read if the cam isnt properly suited to the engine it will be somehwat useless, any feedback would be greatl appreciated as i dont know a great deal on cams, cheers

I have the S&S 570 cams in my 2012 Fatboy with air cleaner and V&H Bigshots, standard heads.
Last dyno run was 103.55 hp and 109.74 torque
    Pretty happy with it.
    Cheers

Lower to mid the se255 is another. This would be comparable to the s&s551.

The s&s 570 will make things happen a little later than the other cams mentioned - more of a mid-high for your application. Dyno numbers in isolation don't tell the whole story. And max hp and torque numbers are really only useful when you know where in the rev range that occurs to help assess suitability to your application.  Obviously dyno charts tell a better story but even then they often don't represent partial throttle openings or the feel of the bike when riding.

S&s cams typically cost a bit more - perhaps due to their patented ezy start feature. But since your 103 has automatic compression releases this is a feature you wouldn't need.

Before the exchange rate dropped, I got the 57h cams for about $350 del from USA. Local dealer was selling the se204 for $460.

I'm not biased against s&s cams as I have a pair of their 585 cams in my bike.

    57's for mid range
    48's for bottom end

personally I like to go for the HP and drop a gear for torque than have the torque and when ya look for HP it ain't there

Andrews 54, 55, ss 585 or something with the biggest TDC lift and an intake closing after 45*, drop a gear and rip it all the way, then when ya go searching for more ( because you will) and some compression and flow ya head with a big TB and look out Torque and HP

You'd be happy with the 204 or 57h. In terms of performance and when they come on/off you wouldn't even tell the difference between the two. The 204 idle makes a nice sound

My s&s cams were less than $400 delivered from the states but yes the dollar was better then...
