Thanks winger and TJU! No sleep will be lost mate lol. I reackon I'll need toale baffles for the pipes but we will see. Biggest problem is it will most like spit some flames having no baffles at that length and the pipes face straight into the passenger foot peg, misses doesn't like that idea haha.

Finished the rear fender struts and mounted up the indicators, these can be moved to the struts if I get the book thrown at me for them being too low and not seen at 45 on the other side. I like this position as it hides them better, more so the ugly rear mount with the wires aren't as in your face when on the bottom rail. Side on I tried to make the mount flow with the top arm...not sure if it's that noticeable but I thought it might count

Oh and for those needing to fix some wrinkle black areas, the VHT high temp wrinkle black works nicely. I done few parts, a little trick is to use a hair dryer to activate the wrinkle...be sure not to use the misses $300 hair dryer as in my case I broke it lol

Muscled up for me it's a spring seat mounted to the main frame. Pillion is a rocker c pillion setup that I'm doing a bit of work to to make it fit. So it bolts to the main frame also and basically hovers the passenger above the fender. No seats mounted to the swing arm. Surprisingly it doesn't look any where near as bad as it does on the original rockers, but I do ride solo 99% of the time so it was purely just to keep a second seat option available if needed

Pulled the swing arm off for the last time. It's all finished off and dropped to the powder coaters along with a few other parts. I drilled out some speed holes in the brake pedal, didn't want to over do the speed holes on the bike, so this will be the last part with them that will tie the bars, rear struts and front brake anchor all in nicely.

Motors now all complete, just the pipes to go back on once I hook the shorter clutch cable up. Didn't get around to finishing painting the tins this break, but that's my goal for next time I'm home. Thanks for looking

Bit of a sneak peak on the paint I got started on after finally finishing straighting the tank out. It's far from finished though, this was just a quick snap as I was painting. Those of you who read my posts about the paint job I had installed, well I changed my mind again last minute, going for a more simple yet bold idea. Will update once it's all finished

And a quick look at the pedal I drilled out and powder coated. Should help toe the few speed hole parts over the bike in nicely. Well I'm happy with it anyway. Thanks for looking!

All I need now is a confederation flag to piss all the people off that are winging about it? Lol.

Well I finished painting the tank. There was a million different ways to tackle the paint scheme and I had so many completely different ideas that would of all worked, it was hard to pick. This was a nice simple look that I'm happy with. So here it is!

Having enough trouble trying to hide my curent horn lol

New battery and charger turned up, all 1 point something kilos of it. Man this thing is small and light. This will give room to hide more stuff in the battery comparent and add to the bikes weight loss

The question has to be asked ... is there going to be a Daisy May in tight torn off jeans in the photo shoot when this beast is finished , Lol ... I`m presuming The Dukes of Hazard was a favourite show growing up .

On a more serious note though , she`s coming together nicely ... for some reason I thought it was going to be a bit more Stealthy , will be a bit hard to slip by the boys in blue when this one is up and running .
... how many coats of clear you have on there Squid , bloody mirror finish , very nice .

    Tim .

nhb006 thinking maybe on the flat black rear fender "ghosting" in a conferation flag

TJU the misses has done plenty of modelling in her time, she's keen to to a shoot on the bike when it's done, lucky for me! Lol. Yeah loved the show as a kid, and with all this crap about the confederation flag on the show got me thinking

Was meant to be more stealthy, then this past minute change happened. I had dozens of great ideas for paint schemes, but this just seamed to suit the style of bike in my opinion. I wanted something for the paint that was a little more loud, because Ive recently had the oppotunity to fi ally get out of 10 years of mining and into doing some I enjoy, putting together bukes like this and making a few odd parts to sell along with some custom work for other people's bikes like seats, paint work, fenders and bars. So I wanted this bike to stand out a little more

The clear I laid 3 coats down and you're right it come up bloody brillant off the gun. Though I'm being extra picky and I'm going to wet and dry it with some fines and lay another coat or two so it's like glass off the gun. Reason also is I'm thinking of blacking out the mount tabs

Love yer work, Squid. Don't know why, but with the tank on the bike ,it reminds me of the early Harley XR750 Flat trackers. Totally different bikes, maybe its just the colour, okay ,i'll shut uplaugh I'm getting a kick out of following this post 'cos the bike is so bloody different!. looking forward to the finished result ( if there IS ever such a thing with harleys!!!)

Reckon you are on the right track about blacking out the mounting tabs ... it will give a clean line between the blacked out motor and the paint work .

Man your not wrong about all the Flag stuff going on ... did you see where they lowered the Stars and Banners in one of those Southern towns ... not that I
agree with what happened back in the days of slavery but for me the Flag didn`t enslave people , other people did ... anyhow better not get to political .

Am I right in thinking the name on the tank is the new business venture ... and if so are you going all out with a shop front or just keeping it nice a steady
at first and working from home ... either way good luck .

Thanks Ricca! I get the same feeling lol

Winger I really dig that bike! And you're right, it's a very similar colour scheme I'm heading towards. Thanks for compliments too mate, I'm having a lot of fun putting this one together. I'm counting on a finished result soon with this one, my bank account is counting on it lol

TJU, in simple, we al need to stop paying for what some one did generations ago. Some ackowlegement in respect to what happen was all that was needed, not paying for it out of our pockets and changing our ways of life for the rest of our lives bullshit. Too worried about what happened 100 years and not a thought about tomorrow. We all should be equal, but I'll leave it at that

You are correct on that being the name for the new business venture. We got an oppotunity to take over one of the inlaws houses with only needing to pay the rates and that's it. It's a got a decent size shed that will be perfect to set all the gear up in. Save a ton of money on over heads and shop fronts that can be poured into more equipment and building a couple more bikes. We won't be taking in any customer bikes for awhile, more so just building bikes for advertisement and to sell and the few odd parts we make. Hard to get a start in this industry these days but I think we've been pretty fortunate to get this help in kicking it off, we all got to start some where I guess!

great job on this build. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

You probably don't want to copy but Apache Choppers did a general lee themed bike a little while back and had the flag on the seat. May give you some ideas though you appear to be doing a decent job on your own

    Build looking good Squid.

Colour contrast looks good i don't know about flag on back guard as you only having a short fender.

Maybe oil tank with nice airbrush flag on it and dark tint clear to make it stealth and only just visible.

You seem to like things less showy and that would do it

Great build and awesome work hope the new venture works out for you

Thanks fellas! To clear it up, my idea is to keep the rear fender flat black and have the confed glad in a satin black finish across it to get a sort of "ghost" effect. No stand out blues reds and whites. It'll be across the entire top of the fender, which will be heaps of room, but still subtle enough it's not all about the flag
