Well I'll be fucked, was it really quieter at 2000rpm than it was at idle or have ya got it arse about face. Hangin' to put my big radius back on but gotta soften them up a little (maybe a lot). I too am on the verge of ordering the smart-arse baffle also, did you order them through J&P cycles. Thanks for the tip on the welsh plug rig, well worth considering I reckon, I recall also reading about that on the forum, great to see a fitted demonstration, doesn't look too bad ay. Ive gotta get the pipes back on somehow not liking the SE slipons that much, their not too bad but I prefer the BR's. Good onya H&H, well done bloke.
Great product. Does what it says it will do. I also had one hole drilled and tapped a little bit on the piss, but not so bad I couldn't get it tightened up. Made it tricky and took a lot of time to get it lined up in the pipe. The other went straight in.
I forgot to measure the db levels before and after but your results sound similar to my experience. I put the smart baffles in and was pretty annoyed that the idle level reduction didn't seem as dramatic as I was expecting, but under power, it s a huge difference. Neighbours happy.
Shame the customer service is so shit.
good effort HH and thank for the pics. it seems the only way to go restricting the outlet I tried the quiet baffles on my Freedoms and it was quiter but sounded shit.I tried a reducer 2' down to 1 3/4' an in inch from the tail of the pipes it droped it slightly and seemed not a bad result?. I tried lolly pop washers they did fuck all for noise.I tried a HP baffle and beat the be jesus out of it to slide into the original cheese grater baffle that droped it slightly. I have a pair of the smart arse baffles but there only 1' inch outlet and to be honest it sounded better at idle with them in back to front,,,not the prong long end which is 2' inches long sticking inside the end of the pipe I then conceded you don't no what your doing you silly old prick!!!! but it is ongoing the bike has a SE tuner maped for the 204 cams and I suppose I am a bit unsure of myself fucking around with things? it is my first EFI bike.
cheers Jimmy
