So I found something strange today, and I am wondering if it's normal.  If I wiggle the balancer tube on the front of the fuel tank, I get a very firm smell of fuel.  The clamps are tight and it's not leaking at all, so where the heck does the smell come from?

Beats me but let's blame the apprentice hd tech anyway.

ahaha! No. can't do that on this one, as I took the tins off last! LOL!

Maybe somone else can go and give that balance tube a good wiggle and tell me if you smell it?

Had this sort of thing happen On my Softy and the front mount on the tank above the balance tube had a crack and was weeping fuel took me a bit to find it

I might be on the wrong track with your sled Mongrel but the mounting tabs on the Softys flex when tightening up pulling the tab from the tank cracking the weld

Hmmm... I will have a look, but there is no fuel leak. Nothing at all. It just smells like fuel.

Could it be the vent?  Where does that end up?
