Hi guys. Just seeing if any have improved cornering by doing this?

I'm scraping the actual board mounts now, so need to improve cornering clearance a bit. Any done it?

Anyone managed to scrape their cases/frames/exhausts on theirs with fwd controls?

I have a set of Outlaw fwd controls to fit, but before I do I thought I'd ask as the boards are good for long distance and being able to move feet around. But I'm missing about 6mm of steel off mine, and they're looking a bit shite.

Yeah, I know it ain't a sports bike (still have my ZX12 and KTM990, so not trying to go there) but looking for a bit better than I have at the moment.

Just changed out the floorboard on our Switchback to forward controls. Bike looks great and corners sweet.

The job including parts cost $700 at Suncity Townsville.

Sweet. Will get onto this shortly. Got a work on bike day coming up. Oil cooler, cylinder head fans, air horn and the fwd controls.

I love my foot boards for comfort on long rides. But then again I ride like an old lady and seldom scrape (& the edge of my shoe soles scrape first due to the way I place my feet)

My bike was a standard height softail std ( ie not lowered ). On doing a sharp left hand turn, something scraped, and it wasn't the foot peg. Nearly threw me off. After this, I use to place my feet in such a way that the boot scraped first. ( Didn't happen that often )

On my standard height custom softail (94) it's the muffler clamp bolts on the RHS and the bottom of the primary chain case on the LHS.

Tried the boot position thing but just can't seem to keep my foot in the right position for long....
