Has anyone installed a retention screw into rear pillion seat position for 13 streetbob. Have checked out all forums and people say its a simple job however the my rear seat position has a plastic guard underneath the fender (with a thread for a screw) preventing me from installing the retention screw bracket? All electrics are also fed through this bracket so i dont fancy removing it.

That thread, built into the plastic number plate assembly, is where the seat retention screw goes. The seat screw I have is interchangeable between the single seat position and the pillion seat postion.

I have removed that plastic tail section on mine, and added an alternative tail tidy, so I had to shift the seat retention assembly (kinda keyhole shape, with the circlip to hold it in place) from the front/single seat position to the back/pillion spot.  If you are keeping that platic tail piece, then you dont need another seat retention screw assembly, or need to move your single seat one.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks heaps! I ended up bending the stock plastic tail section downwards towards the tire and squeezed the retention screw thread (I bought an additional one from harley as I will be switching from solo to 2 up frequently) keyhole between the plastic tail section and the fender which did the trick. The is secured it with the black half washer.

I know have 2 retention screw threads installed in both the solo and 2 up position for ease of transition.

Will post photos shortly to assist anyone else with the same issue.

    Thanks again for the reply
