hey guys got some progressive front springs for my streetbob I'm sure plenty have fitted them anyhow I've got the plastic spacers with them can you give me an idea of size to cut them length etc.
I know you have to set preload etc also I'm reading that the closed end of the spring should go to the top to stop rattling/clunking I know it doesn't matter which way up but enyone had experience with them being noisy with the closed end down ?????
787 cc of oil I rekon 20 weight when talking to a mate who did his ?????
Or less oil cause the springs are bigger?????
Thanks in advance
if ya going with 20w fluid i would not use the spacers at first an see how it feels 20w will make em pretty stiff with prog springs
dual rate pro springs are soft , better with a straight rate spring like race tech brand , 10 or 15 or 20 w bel-ray fork oil great stuff, for best results air cap the forks crown nuts with short car mag wheel valve fittings no more than 18 lbs each , best & low cost modifications
Same amount of oil, I used15 wt, my race tech progressives came with alloy spacers that you cut to length using their preload (sag) set up procedure, mine made an improvement over stock but over tbe years I'm still not happy with it. I'm probably going to go with a drop in cartridge set up
Before i start playing with springs i have ricor intiminators i will be fitting in my fork legs
Anyone here using these ?
i have ricor shocks fitted to the rear and cant speak highly enough about em
allways fine windings to da top
As a starting point I would lay out your standard spring and spacer on the ground and measure the length...Then make your new spacer to whatever length you need so you end up with the same over all length...You can then cut the spacer down to get the ride how you like it...
