I am new to  the forum and Harley's, 

I recently took delivery of a 2015 72 Sportster. I love the bike, however I have a couple of questions.

Looking to put some slip on mufflers, can anyone tell me what the black pipe is that runs to both pipes it seams to be welded to the header pipes we as the older models seem to have a round gasket. Slide in style?
Also I purchased a flush push button fuel cap, however when I went to fit it there is a little circular breather type thing that gets in the way of the new cap screwing all the way down.
your help is greatly appreciated,
