i look forward to getting to know most of you, learning along the way and hopefully being able to help in some way.

 

i recently took delivery of a 2015 72 Sportster. I love the bike, however I have a couple of questions.

• Looking to put some slip on mufflers, can anyone tell me what the black pipe is that runs to both pipes it seams to be welded to the header pipes we as the older models seem to have a round gasket. Slide in style?
• Also I purchased a flush push button fuel cap, however when I went to fit it there is a little circular breather type thing that gets in the way of the new cap screwing all the way down.

Sounds like you've bought the fuel cap for a different model sporty. I've got the cap for my 48 and iron tanks and it doesnt hit the vent.
Your tank is the same as 48 I believe? Pop back to the dealer and ask is probably the best bet without being able to see it.

I have Screaming Eagle slipson on my Sporty and they are perfect.... very nice sound but not obnoxious. No tuning needed either if its just the pipes being swapped out.
