Okay I have searched the forum and seen the discussion on Airhawk seats but not really into the look of them.  The other half is getting a sore bum on the 07 fatboy after a couple of hours in the saddle.  Any pointers would be appreciated.  I dont want to spend a squillion as she isnt with me all the time, but you know the deal, gotta stay on the good side. The more comfortable she is the more riding I get to do.!!!

I don't think you have much choice if you don't want to spend much cash the Airhawk is the only option, with her arse on it you

wont see the cushion anyway, my missus and many others have sworn by the Airhawk.

I had the same problem as well, got a wide, thick seat and sissybar with backrest and rack.
she was very happy, spent another $40k on here own bike.

I still use the big seat when travelling

Out of curiosity, how much is an air hawk? I noticed that on my Tallboy seat that the pillion part of the seat is a lot wider compared to the Sundowner which I had put up with for the last 2 1/2 years.

On Boxing Day, I rode a couple hours 2 up with a friend, he had no problem with the comfort of the pillion seat.

A better seat would fix the problem, but that will cost more. I have just got a Airhawk and used it on a 1,500 km ride, heaps more comfortable. Then take it off for the local rides.

I think a standard one is about $130? I got the "R" for about $230?

Any seat needs at least 1500km to settle ( or Break in) But yes an Airhawk would help a lot quicker. Just don't have much air in them, they need to look as though they are flat.

Thanks guys, will do some more research, looks like the Airhawk is the go, don't really want to part with the cash for a new seat at the moment.

The Airhawk is great to soften any long ride. It just has to be inflated correctly, as mentioned, just about flat. I'm even thinking of using one on a hard backrest to make it more comfortable. Buy one and you won't look back.

I have a lowrider with the sundowner seat,
my mrs used to get a sore bum and lower back after a couple of hours.

After some discussion found out she feels like she is slipping forward as couldn't get enough angle on thwe existing pegs to "push" back against.
So bought a passenger peg adjusting kit and problem solved.

We are going on a 3500 Klm's ride (approx) in march so I may buy an air hawke for her as well.

Have a look at this on eBay. It's a seat over so comes off and folds up. Won't affect the look of your bike.

Here's a hot tip. My Mrs complained of a sore arse and said she needed a bigger seat. "I think you just need a smaller arse" is not the correct answer. Lucky the lounge is comfortable!
