anyone here used this product on a FXDB or FXDBB? This bracket fits under the seat and means no more buggerising around with side plates or indicator relocation. Check out the Kurakyn site for images

recently installed this on the FXDBB - took 5 minutes and no drilling of guard. Fits perfectly with HD bandlander seat. .

Hey Southwind, if you get a chance could you post a photo. I've been thinking about this mod too after you posted about it. Have you been for a ride with it yet? What does your pillion think? Does it feel like a solid support? Cheers

Is it only the seat screw that holds it on there ????

The base plate is held in by two bolts - one at the rear (that holds the back of the seat) and another at the front of the base plate. All i needed to replace was the rear bolt with a longer one to take into account the additional width of the baseplate (about 5mm).

On the FXDBB the rear guard has multiple holes in it and the front bolt hole in the guard lines up with the front slots in the Kurakyn base plate below. It is a very sturdy fixing with two bolts ( 1 x front, 1 x rear)  but if you wanted to add more you could drill the rear guard and use the external fixing points also.

Doesn't look like it would hold much weight, i.e you wouldn't want to lean on it too hard - my wife wants something to stop her feeling like she's going to slide off the seat.. how do you rate it?

Would also be keen to know what it cost you too, quoted $600 for a genuine HD setup :/

RevZilla.com have the full kit for about $360 shipped to Australia, have looked at these myself but was told by a dealer to go with HD detachable set up which is about $500 and includes relocation of indicators. Don't want to go with the HD set up as the stalk on the indicators is removed and changed for a bolt and docking kit for the backrest bracket!

Yeah I'm interested on some feedback as to how it actually performs, might pull the trigger then

The sissy bar is very solid- held in place by 4 threaded screws into the upright. There is two large screws going through the base plate unde the seat into the guard. No concerns about falling off here- it's a solid setup. I went this way as I didn't want to mess with the indicators and the HD detachable set up was ugly and expensive. The only issue I have is that the FXDBB has a bad lander seat and it is OK for the rider but uncomfortable for the pillion. I am considering buying a two up seat from a Lowrider FDXL (will still work with the sissy bar) and the wife might stop screaming about the thin pillion pad.
    Hope this helps team.

Dealer tried hard to sell me standard HD setup- at considerably higher cost. As soon as my Plug and play arrived they started to get more orders from other Street Bob riders.

Good question- see the image of the baseplate higher in the thread. This comes with a thick rubber gasket same size as baseplate that protects the paint. Only thing you may need is a longer seat bolt that screws through the rear lug on the seat and base plate rear locating hole.

    cheers

Keen to see a photo if you get it coated - the chrome on finish for the FXDBB looks good but anything in gloss black would be perfect.

I've been calling around and looks like its going to be $450'ish from HD, Rollies or RevZilla. Add the cost of painting after that and its starting to add up for something I might only use a few times a year.
