    Hey All,

So I have a Kurry air kit on my Fat, and it comes with the adapters to take the oily air out of the breathers and NOT back into the air intake.  That's all well and dandy, but my problem is those fucking banjo bolts with the crush washers don't stop the oil from leaking out.

Is there a better way?  I have replaced them twice, and still no joy.

The fuckers shit me as the oil ends up splashed onto my pipes and oil tank etc.  It's fucked!

Its this bit here that leaks man - on both sides of the breather.  Can't seem to stop it.

They look like SS washers???? Try copper washers or fibre washers

They are actually these thin shim like crush washers, but they don't work.

Use a red fibre washer and even some flange sealant on them

    Thanks guys.

I am seriously considering some sort of flat O-Ring but will try and hunt down some copper washers.

Hi all...Copper washers will definitely work.Heat them up red hot and drop them in water immediately. It will soften them up so they seal better. They are reuseable.

Mongrel come and have a look at my setup. Leaky oil spraying onto the bike or going into the intake is a thing of the past. And also using kuryakyn air cleaner

Dowty washers are used in all manner of high pressure hydraulic situations. PTO hydraulic lines and excavator hydraulics etc, would be worth a shot I reckon. Some Stag and a fibre washer would possibly get ya out of trouble.

It looks like the oil line flange isn't lined up on the head to me does the other side look the same. The breather on my bike is to the ground and never seen any oil leaking out. Maybe you have a problem with the umbrella valves in the rocker assembly where they changed when the 57 cams went in.

like said copper washers or Loctite white thread sealant 567 comes in a tube for oil fittings /threads that go into oil passage ways
its like thread tape but a liquid type toothpaste

Another option is to use "Dowry" seals. These items are used in the hydraulic's industry and are very successful.

Essentially these seals are a washer with the inner hole incorporating an "o" ring, any of the hydraulic or industrial hose types stock them.

Thanks guys - I will look into it. Had a look at FatBat's setup and ordered the same kit. Hopefully solves my problem.

Everything is lined up - it can't not be, as there is no room for it to move around.

Anyways... will look at the Dowty washers too and let you know how I go.

So my new breather kit turned up today and is now installed.  To try and stop the leaks, I have installed using a combination of coppter washers and red nylon washers.  Let's see if that works.  It runs down under the bike to a nice little filter.  Fingers Crossed!

I am not a huge fan on the look of the braided line running down into the engine cavity, but if it solves my issues, then I will put up with it.

Watch that braided line touching your pushrods tubes! It will take the chrome off before you can say boo.

Yep I hear ya! I have been looking at how I get around that. Not sure how yet, as there really is nowhere else to run it. Anywhere else and it rests against the exhaust, which would be nasty!

Hmm.. Mine is exactly the same colour as the engine oil. Pretty clean, as I scavenge and change every 5000k. If yours is ugly, then you might have other issues.
