Mongrel it is more than normal for the breather oil/residue to look like a milkshake, I find it strange that yours looks like clean.

Hilly Iam sure would be all over his oil change intervals and if he had an issue with his breather set up

Don't know mate, bug I have run my finger under those breathers more times that I can remember, and I can tell you it's always been perfectly clean oil.

run my mild cammed 96ci breathers to a Y and over the top since new with no issues for 50,000km in my Streetglide.
Run the 120ci/135+hp the same since it was built, on days when i absolutely cane that engine it breathe a bit, lol, normal ops are sweet, 7000rpm gets a bit sticky.LMAO
unobstructed breathers is key, not where they run as much

Don't forget the reason behind drilling the rocker support oil hole bigger

Thanks for the input guys! I will let you know how I get on. For what it's worth, everything else is perfect. Plugs are the right colour, and the bike is running like a dream. The filter that was on the old breathers is also very clean and dry, so I think it's nothing more than a bad seal on those old banjos. Hopefully now I have fixed that issue.

Mongrel my oil breather seepage problem was the seals and I reckon yours was probably too. So the replacement system not only fixes that but keeps what little oil coming out away from the intake as a bonus

Well, have the first ride under the belt with the new breather setup and all good. Did about 100kms and no leaking what so ever, and bike ran fine. Happy as!

Well done mongrel. I put about 1,500 kms in my bike in January and no more leaky breather seals for me either. Did you notice your new little filter at the end of your braided breather lines was any diff? Mine still looks brand new

What do people using the SE Heavy Breather do to stop the crankcase breathers from feeding back into the intake?

I'll put up some pics of mine soon, worked out ok... used push in pneumatic fittings and airline from work haha keeping with the industrial look of my bike!

I am surprised nobody has invented a catch can style system like the provent used on turbo diesels with a return to sump style valve in it for the oil that gets seperated or in this case oil tank.
