"Brass,Copper,Chrome and Pewter.                   Prepare a paste using vinegar mixed with one tablespoon of flour and two teaspoons of salt. Add enough vinegar to make a thick paste.Apply to the metal with a clean cloth."     Copied word for word from a book "Vinegar. Natures secret weapon" by Maxwell Stein. Haven't been on here much guys, all good tho. Hope you all had a bonza crissy and will have an even better new year. ??

Prolly works, but since vinegar is an acid I think I'd be washing that shit off when finished.

salt and vinegar, could one just rub a packet of chips into prescribed area?

salt and vinegar are very corrosive materials, doubt if would use it. Why not just buy a quality soft polish such as "PURPLE" ya tightarse, homemade hippy concoctions are idealistic environmental bullshit.

I just bought some purple polish now that you mention it. $30 on special at autobarn. I'f I'd heard about the vinegar salt thingy before I bought it I might have given it a try.

I used to polish my black car with vinegar and it worked really well for removing minor marks and giving a high gloss finish. Was the only thing i could find that worked.
