Thought I'd say gidday and get involved.

Wouldn't mind being a do gooder and having an excuse to show off the Moo and raise money or awareness for a good cause. Are there any fund raisers, shows or anything any one is organising? Is there something new we could kick off? What about a local HD show with some sponsors - location in my instance as I am in Warrandyte South/Ringwood could be one of the local ovals/footy clubs. Let me know thoughts.

Welcome. Well, not a bad intro., straight into it.

Off the top of my head I can't think of anything that is happening out your way, but after a while you may be able to get involved in something that interests you.

Anyway, what are you riding? Any pics to post?

Tatt and Natt - don't be alarmed...!

I'm riding a 1993 FLSTN (Moo Glide) - had it imported from the USA on account of their rarity here - tough process getting it landed. Nice ride although I haven't taken any of the new models for a test ride as yet. It came with a few mods to give the 1340 a boost otherwise I haven't had to do much to it mechanically - new battery and new fuel line is about it.

On the cosmetic side I had the driver seat and pillion pad cow inserts re-upholstered by a local guy. The tough part was getting a hide to match.

I've always been a bike rider - more so the unmotorised versions (road and MTB) so the transition to one with an engine was easy. One of the benefits being that I already know most of the local roads.

The riding I do is mainly leisure and pleasure - my daughter was a recent convert (hence the sissy) and we went for a fantastic ride (for you Melbourne folk) over the Dandenongs to Emerald, then onto Gembrook and looped back over to Launching Place and then to Warby.

I'm now beginning to appreciate the Harley "factor" - its a great bike and a testament to over 110 years of development.

    Pic attached.

Leisure and pleasure are two words that go together with a Harley.

Starting off in Warrandyte already gives you a head start to get out to the good roads, as you have already found out.

    Good looking bike. Enjoy it!

Very nice looking ride buddy. Those are some great roads too. The father-in-law is at east Warby so we ride up that way from time to time also. Glad to here your daughter is catching in to. Enjoy mate.

Welcome to the site. Harley factor? 110 years of development?
They are an old design, antiquated slow and heavy lump of bike full of vibrations.
But, we love em' to death and wouldn't have it any other way. There is something about them that makes most of us coming back for more.

Enjoy the site and have fun on your lovely machine.
    Cheers. FLHuTCHU.

I may have overdone the 110 years of development bit and agree with FLHuTCHU. The traditional, classic look is what attracted me to the 93 and yes it vibrates, the footboards scrape around corners and holds up the Ducati speed demons but I'm happy cruising around and taking time out on some "elegant simplicity' for no real purpose other than to have fun.

There were other things that attracted me to a Harley and no matter how hard I try and candy coat it, I liked the idea of defying conventional wisdom and practicality by riding a big, noisy, cumbersome bike that is seen as the domain of the rebellious and yet at the same time looks great, sounds great, stands out and turns heads - a bit of ego - hell yeah!
