G'day Fellas

Does anyone know how to recalibrate an electronic speedo on a 1998 Sportster 1200? I want to raise the gearing by changing the front sprocket to get better top end speed, better fuel economy and less vibes, but changing the gearing will throw out the speedo. I've done it before on other bikes, but the speedo worked off the front wheel.

I've been looking on other forums and I couldn't find any mention of how to adjust the speedo. I thought it might be impossible, but the Dakota Digital part just fits into the original wiring loom with no changes. I didn't want to change the gearing and then risk a huge speeding fine because my speedo has changed.

I checked the Dakota Digital website and the e-bay one is $25US cheaper.
