Mirrors

A little while ago me and my girl went for a ride on my sporty heading out to Gawler and at one of the traffic lights before you hit the freeway the light went to amber and I thought I could stop but the back wheel locked up and we slide... because I couldn't see behind me a truck was up my arse and swerved just in time to miss us... the guy driving the truck was probably as shocked as both of us... we came extremely close to dying that day,

Anyway I swaped over the mirrors and have them dropped below the handle bars and now I can see everything behind me.

Lots of people flip the mirrors, though usually for the "look". I've never had trouble seeing through mine.

You look too old to be riding! :-) Glad you can see clearer behind you with the mirrors upside down. Cheers and stay upright

Yeah, 62 in a couple of months... I must say 10 years ago I was ready for the big tipper in ths sky... I was stuffed mentally and physically... I knew I had to do something and do it quick... I bought a motorcycle (a little 250cc Suzuki GN)  and it got me up and about... I road it everywhere and even road it to Ballarat and back during winter... it got below zero... the little bike virtually saved my life.

After that I bought a Kawasaki VN750 and then Suzuki GSX650F and finally the Sportster a year ago.  Stil got the Suzuki GSX650F  and that is a totally different ride and use it for long trips... though it can get a bit boring after a couple of hours into a trip because the thing is so quiet and smooth...

My younger brother had a bad stroke in his early 50s and has taken a long time to recover... I said to him get a motorcycle and a couple of weeks ago he did... He is off touring around now and loves it...

Bogie, great to hear that riding got you out of the slump that you were in 10 years ago. Riding certainly does have that positive restorative effect with you as living proof.

No doubt with you steering your brother in the right direction he'll be the same.

Well done and keep enjoying life.
