Gidday good folks ... i have a mate with a 2004 Dyna Super Glide and he wants to go down the Wide Glide conversion path ... he loves his bike and he is on the short side of life so he wants to stick with the 19 " front wheel ... he already has the rear lowered .
Ok the question is will a 1997 Dyna Wide Glide front end , which another mate has complete with legs , sliders , and tripple trees , slide straight into his head stem housing ... is the length of the 97 head stem the same lenght as the 04 head stem housing if that makes sense .
He is aware of the longer axle needed as well as spacers but there again is there a difference in axle diamiter size between the 04 Super Glide Hub and the 97 lower fork legs where axle sits .
Then there is the issue of the brake mounts of course ... i have said to him to have a look at the few different types of Tripple tree kits one can buy and just use his forks and what not which is a way he may end up going but he was keen on getting the bigger size forks to give the front end a bit of a chunkier look ... if i am right the Super Glide fork legs are only 39 Mil where as the Wide Glide ones are 41 Mil .
Any thoughts out there in Forum Land ... thanks in advance .
