G'day to all!
I am looking at changing carbs on my 91 EVO, a friend of mine has an SU carb he never got around to fitting on his bike! and it has been sitting in his shed unused, im keen to rebuild and cleen it up and fitting it on my bike, would anyone that has used an SU carb on an EVO or know anything about them give me advise! i'm good on the tools and like doing a the job right. can I benifit from the SU carb if it's set up right?
cheers Corey
I ran an SU for a few years on an Evo, biggest let down was no accelarator pump so was a bit more finnicky to kick. Simple carb and easy to set up. They stick out a bit so they would foul your knee with forward contols if you are a short cunt. Mid range and up they are a great CV carb, they tick a bit on valve overlap at idle as the slide bottoms out. Go for it
Thank you for all your feed back! What I might do is play around with the SU and see how she sits on the bike and see if I can get it running right! If all else fails I'll put the original CV back on! I was after a custom look but also want performance!
once again thank you for your feed back!
