as above what is the best solo and why, I really like the new 2015 CVO Street Glide seat but at $550 its hard to spend that much just on a solo, its another $440 for the pillion, or I would need to exchange my solo for the badlander any time the missus wants to come along. I can get a Le Pera Villian solo for a reasonable price but am doubting it would be comfortable for anything over an hour or two. I also really like the look of the Saddleman Dominator seat but cant find any specs on it. I am only a short arse at 5'7 and am looking for the most comfortable lowest solo I can find preferably with a pillion available as well.

    pic below is the Dominator

Have a look at mustang, I put one of their solos on my FLHT and it's as good as the original that came with my bike when I bought it new. Which is an ultra seat. 65,000 kms later I'm not complaining.

Keen to hear the answers for this one, have jammed a std ultra seat on my street glide and done 42k on it with no issues but look at a single all the time.

Don't you have to drill the rear guard so as to fix the seat? That would put me off.

On the Ultra, basically the same as the SG, there is a main screw that holds the rear of the seat to the guard. The seat is a 2-up seat and there is no facility to put a smaller seat on unless you drill a new hole in the rear guard. I assume there is a tab at the rear of the seat for a screw. Is this the case?

under my seat there are 2 bolts which can be used for fitting a solo or attaching rider backrest. Mustang seats bolt up to them and some over brands have adapter plates which mount to them.
