Rain socks on exposed air filters? I just got a rsd intake for my fat bob and it don't have a rain sock, is it something I should be getting? If it starts raining I keep riding just wondering how nessecary it is in light rain or if it's only for when things get really full on? Cheers

Yeh that's what I've read on a few different places that they make it hard for the bike to breathe. In heavy rain is it something needed tho? Of is it just a gimmick and the bike will run fine without?

been caught out a few times as mine is almost a daily ride. I have even blocked the top of the filter to stop the fuckin annoying induction noise

Are there any aftermarket fleets that aren't just essentially a pod filter? Seems like such a bad idea on an any weather bike.

I rode into a blanket of rain coming home tonight and was drenched in under 3 seconds flat. The engine was drinking water and farting through the 5 inch S&S filter but I was still smilling as I love riding and the carbon living on the pistons would have been blown out the exhaust.

you can modify the original filter and run a high flow on it

Yeah I was looking at the stage 1 kits but The rsd one just looked so much more badass. It's the clarity so I can see the insides moving and all =P. I know a bit of water can help clean things out but how much is too much? Bahai know hydrolocking is bad but where do you draw the line? When it starts coughing?

If having a cool looking filter means carrying a rain sock in the saddle bag it's not the end of the world tho. Still less moving parts than a hypercharger
