Alarm problem after replacing battery

Replaced the battery on my 07 Sporty about a month ago. Have had some intermittent problems since with the alarm going off when I turn on the ignition. Seems to be happening more often though. I believe the security alarm controller is mounted below the battery so I am wondering if I have 'upset' it in replacinhg the battery? Would be happy to hear from anyone who may have experienced similar and if they were able to rectify without taking it into the HD dealer. Cheers

Goodonya Hilly, didn't think of that.

I have a spare also, so strange that both would go at the same time, but I guess they are the same 'age'.

Will get them replaced and see how we go.

    Cheers mate, appreciate the tip.

And don't have your FOB near your mobile phone. I was told the phone, when looking for a wireless connection can fuck with your FOBs connection.

Also best to keep your fob more than 5 metres away from your bike when it is sitting int eh garage or shed. The fob and bike'talk' to each other and will continue 'conversation' if they are left too close, flattening the fob battery faster. TC

Yep, friendly little fuckers ain't they, just wanna yak to everything that comes within ear shot of them.

edit; in all seriousness though, compared to most other ignition/security fobs they really are power hungry little bastards, and the recomendation to change out batteries every twelve months is a damn good one.

Once they start playing up you haven't got much time before they're inoperative.

    Side note:
a couple of batteries the same size will fit your fob, but only one has the correct voltage. The others will work for a very short time i.e: until you get to the middle of nowhere before they mess with you.

The battery physically fitting isn't enough. Make sure that you replace a working battery, with another battery with the same number on it. (might be 3032 from memory, but don't quote me on it).
