Just wondering your thoughts are on using an S&S HP103 cam in my 2010 dyna Street bob. Currently it is a Big bore 103ci with SE CNC ported MVA heads and a SE260 cam but I want to change the cam to achieve max HP in the high rpm range but I reckon the SE 260 doesnt have enough bottom end power and that there must be something more suited. My mechanic reckons the S&S 103HP cam would be a good fit although from what I have heard they are for a stock 103 were as mine has the MVA heads, 10.5 HC SE pistons, 58mm Throttle body, pro comp V&H 2 into 1 pipes, SE roller rockers + lifters etc etc. I would have thought that the HP103 cam doesnt have enough lift (.575" to get the best out of the MVA Heads. Just wondering what the experts out there think about using this cam and if its no good what would they recommend.
do you have domed slug's 103 would need high comp for 260's
use to drag race a late model 09 Dyna with the 103 stage 4 kit 260 cams with S/E heads do not know what type of S/E/heads , 50 m.m. throttle body , i modified the stock exh pipe's & mufflers had about 106hp i think back then , race her for Fraser/s Sydney about 1 1/2 seasons was a great bikle best time on the strip was 11.007 sec's @ 120 /2 mph if i remember right i rode her home a few time's from the track & back to the shop , i think she was a great bike good allround power esp for the street , maybe your comp ratio is not set up proper as this was one of the better set up's good low down & mid range power & torque but i am only a feather weight @ 61 klg's the 260's is one of my favorate cams olso for the same shop ran a 113 stage 4 kitted 2010 Dyna with the 260 cam's that bike was even better power & torque i ran her for a full season she went straight into 10.6 sec E.T.'s @ 125 mph beaut bike great street bike look out for your licence & point's ?
