G'day all, I bought a 1993 Heritage Softail about two weeks ago, the bike only has just over 46000kms on it and I got the bike for a good price so I am happy.

Now I have had some good friends of mine and some mechanics telling me that I should do the cam bearing a.s.a.p. by fitting a better bearing because the one Harley used has been known to fail.

Ok now I done some research and one of the best ways to do this job is to get rid of the standard pushrods and fit quick change adjustable ones, this may save time and money by not having to remove the rocker boxs when the new pushrods are fitted and the old ones taken out by using cutting them in half with bolt cutters so would that be right so far?

Back to the adjustable pushrods, I have read that the Screaming Eagle ones can work the lock nut loose throwing out the timing, Feuling pushrods are very noisy when the motor gets hot, Andrews pushrods can cost a arm and a leg, still researching the Crane pushrods and will do this later on.

So for me it's a mindfeild out there about adjustable pushrods and like most of us here I am on a limited budget, so I am asking you good people what pushrods are you using or have used that's given you great service cheers.

Never heard of the SE pushrods nuts coming loose. There was a bad batch a few years back where the nuts were breaking upon locking them tight.
The SE pushrods are one of the few SE parts I have in mine & have done well over 30,000k's with them & no nut has come loose for me.

Another top notch brand is the Smiths Brothers but they do cost you.

While you have it open a cam upgrade is simple and cost effective...it never ends....

S&S c/moly are the thicker tubing than crane, as far as the nut is concerned i always spraythe nuts  with electic cleaner before tighten so as they are very dry inbetween the clamping effect / better than wet with oil on any adj/able pushrod no matter what the brand
