I want to put a 21 inch front wheel on my sporty however rollies want to charge me around 1400 just for the rim itself. Black rim 40 spokes. Does any1 know a cheaper supplier or has done similar on their sporty and whats involved and where did you shop.

That is insane, you can do it one of two ways. My understanding is the 48 has a mid glide front end, so either sacrifice your front hub and have it laced to a 21 inch rim or buy a narrow glide 21 inch wheel. I'd take the first option because you're wheels are black, get the new rim powdered the same color and have it laced. You can buy a rim off eBay for $100.00 and spokes for around $50 - lacing & truing should be $100 in total (unless you can do it yourself). I reckon you can wrap the hole thing up for under $400 inc. parts n labor.

I was looking into this aswell, as above best option is to re-lace stock hub to a 21 inch hoop and appropriate spokes, Wheel building isn't rocket science but there is a bit of a dark art, If you don't have patience you might put a screwdriver or two through your garage door/neighbor/fuel tank.

Dont know if im overly keen to butcher my stocky. Wonder what id ve looking at for a hub?
