    Hi people.

well I'm looking at long service leave and really thinking I'd like to take both the car and bike and do a wander down the east coast and probably across to Perth to see my daughters!! and really after my last 2 roadtrips on the scoot living out of a bag on the pillion is ok for 5 days,,,but not a month or more!!!yeah I'm an old prick and want everthing my fucking way!! so I'm really thinking something big enough that I can roll out my swag in as well and if I get enough air into it cook in it if it's raining on my gas burner.I'm a fairly miserable prick so a toy hauler is out of the question.

I looked at a 5 mtr one the other day but it was a shit fight,,the size was good I thought,,,,,,ok your turn.

    cheers Jimmy

Enclosed trailers a way over priced for what you get , and your also got the problem of someone sealing it when your at a motel . Have a look at horse floats . More room better value . And no one would have a clue that your bikes in it

good point Walka.. I might go back and have another look at the shitfight old mate wants 3,500 for!!! it looked like somehting you would not tow to a shit fight so I can be a candid sorta prick so it might work,,,fairdinkum you would not look twice at this thing it looks like an old hot dog stall you see at the show about 30 yrs ago :),   I was actually looking at a bloke today towing a horse float on a cattle station out west of here and haveing a sticky from my truck cab as I went past I see the cowboy had a fucking 4 wheeler in the back of it!!! no horse.so there ya go

    cheers Jimmy

Horse float sounds like a great idea and you know they are built tough to withstand all the abuse a horse can do.

Buy a cheap caravan and modify it to fit the bike in...Everything you need for a long holiday...

Considered a van , a good used one is about the price of a good trailer,  a mid roof transit van will do everything you need and more

I would suggest whether enclosed trailer, horse float or caravan, consider a tandem rather than single axle.

Trailers have an uncanny ability to see wheel parting from trailer, partly due to the time they spend sitting unused with poorly serviced wheel bearings, but also due to the physics of wheel nuts which have a tendancy to work themselves loose (an engineer/cartavan builder once explained to me why this happens on vans/trailers but not cars, it sounded quite logical but was a little over my head). As a caravanner myself, I have also lost a wheel due to this, on an almost new van which had already had the wheel bearings serviced prior to my transporting it, there was quite a bit of damage.

Nothing worse than losing a wheel, and at least with a tandem you can carry on your way to get repairs done at the next workshop..
