Hi, been doing changes etc on my heritage for years now and the drain plug on the primary has developed a leak. It's the old tapered style. Tried tape, various loktites, etc but still leaks. I gather I've pulled the thread and it's now stripped in the cover.

I'm assuming the only solution is to get the primary cover re-threaded?

any suggestions on who to take the primary cover to in Adelaide to get this work done?

    other suggestions?

    thanks in advance.

Hi, yeh, definitely the plug. I've taken it in and out so many times trying to seal it, I can do it blindfolded.

ive cleaned around it after rides to determine if it might have been from elsewhere.

no suggestions for a local had shop?

I'm not in Adelaide but I would just take it to a good engineering works shop, it's only a thread.

Along the lines of what robots said, are you 100% sure? I ask as I thought for awhile that my primary plug was leaking until I put my hand underneath and behind the inner primary case and realised that it was the Jack shaft seal that was leaking. Might be worth a look, it didn't leak much just a few drop's after getting back from a ride.
