Saturday 8/11/14 was a Poker Run to raise money for leukemia , through The U.G.L.Y. Bartender fundraising scheme here in S.A. Over $1100- was raised for the day .

4 Forumites attended ridig approx 150km to get to Moonta ( about 165km N/W of Adelaide )

35 bikes registered at a Moonta hotel where the first card was given .

We then proceeded to the Arthurton Hotel for the next card at such a cracking pace that seemed to set the spirit for the day . All country C roads with hardly a car on them . My wife on the back , while struggling to take pics at 160km/h asks " what,s the hurry " . My reply , "there are bikes in front ! " .If at any time we,d drop under 140 , the bikes ahead would start to disappear .

Beer , pizza ,and card , then it was time to go . It was a bit like a Le Mans start , for ,as soon as the first person was spotted gettin his gear on , everyone quickly geared up and raced off . No waitin , just fuck off out of there as quick as you could !

Next stop Kadina Hotel for the 3rd card , beer , and hot chips . Slight rain while we were there , but not enough to dampen the spirit .

Only short trip to Wallaroo hotel with a few cars on this stretch . 4th card at Anglers Inn with another beer .

Back to Moonta to complete the 90km loop . The race was on here folks ! Definately seemed 1st one back was the winner .

Cards were shown , and with a bit of swapping !! , 4 Aces beat 4 Jacks !!! , all good fun .

So overall , we rode about 300km to do a 90km loop . It was one of the best ride days I,ve had . Everyone had a grin from ear to ear at each stop , with heaps of passing tales . One comment I overheard , " I don,t think a single fuck was given today " , seemed to sum up a great ride day .

Jinda went from wanting a wider rear wheel on his bike at the first stop , to looking at a Breakout with the big wide wheel standard , + more power , by the end of the day!!

Oh , and I won the raffle of the day . A 4.5 litre bottle of Jim Beam in a pouring frame that fitted perfectly in my pannier , and we cracked when we got home !!

    Cheers , Tim .

    Pics from today .

Great write up Tim and it looked like a great day. Lucky the fish were on big time on the west coast or I would be really pissed of that I missed this one.
