Hi, in a few days or so, i'm taking my bike over for a tour of Tasmania. I have a 2014 Street Glide, i think that maybe when the ship is in transit it may cause my alarm to go off. What would be the best way to prevent this? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

This is not a tourer, but the same principles apply.. Got to do Tassie on a bike one day myself ,,, enjoy the trip. Cheers ..
When I went over I just left the fob with the bike.
It's not as if anyone can take it anywhere.
They also tell you to put your bike in gear but I didn't like the idea of it rocking back and forth but once they are tied down it won't go anywhere.
To stop the alarm going off place the alarm into transport mode. Easiest way, just involves a few select pushes of the indicator buttons.
Consult the handbook supplied with your bike for instructions
Hi, just got back from Tasmania today and had a ball, thanks to all of you for the responses. In short when i lined the bike up to tied up, i ended up just leaving my fob key inside my panniers and had no issues. Once again thanks.
Here we go mate, hope this works. Pics from just outside of Hobart, Port Arthur, Hobart Dockland, Cataract Gorge and George Town/Low Head
Yeah, transporting a Harley can be a hassle. But in short, remember to turn the IGN key to ON, turn the RUN switch off, then turn the IGN key to ACC (you should press them simultaneously). Then turn IGN off. It should flash 3 times with the turn signals. This did the trick for me when I transported my Harley from Sydney to Gold Coast using Just Motobike Transport . Although I gotta say, their service was top notch anyway.
