Warranty should by rights only be affected if the aftermarket part was shown to be the reason for failure, ie you different rear shocks and the engine shits the bed then it's all good as it's unrelated.

I believe there is a touring shock for the sporties, so you could get that put on prior to delivery. As for pegs, any of the HD pegs that remove the "feeler" will give you another inch of lean before scraping.

Irons would have to be the most common HD for sale, In my opinion buying one new would not make financial sense when you could grab a near new one with warranty for thousands less but that's your call.

Buy a second hand Iron , save yourself thousands .

Buy the Yamaha XVS950 if you plan on doing a bit of riding its the best mid sized Vtwin ever made imo. Buy the HD sportster if you want a simple motorbike.

Gah, the days of Yamaha being oh so much more reliable than a Harley are over. I've heard horror stories from both camps, but for the most part the bikes have improved 10 fold.
Whenever I look at the Bolt (and lots of other Jap bikes) I always think they've tried so hard to rip off the Harley style, so why the fuck wouldn't I just buy the real thing?
Both have good and bad, but if ever I go out and buy a Yamaha (or such) you'll know I'm just trying it out and my REAL ride is at home in the shed for the day.
Test ride them both if you can. If you still want the Yammie you're fucked in the head like the rest of the wankers thinking their Jap crap is just like a Harley.

As said above, buy second hand, mod what you want, ride.

bolt looks like a try hard piece of shit ( im a hard core yamaha hater only had one and it was the biggest heap of shit i ever owned)

If you're after a cruiser, I'm not sure why you'd consider the 883 Iron..........unless of course you like visiting petrol stations and prefer not to carry a pillion.

I've got 2 bikes. A Suzuki 1998 LC Cruiser and a 84 Evo Softail.
Love riding both bikes. Dont like any of the Recent Yamaha Cruisers, last 15 years.
The XS650 SR400 and 500 can turn out pretty sweet, but they're recent stuff, Nah.
