VIEDs for simple needs?

Hey guys, been a few years since I've been here, had to sell my 48 for various reasons but am back with a new Sporty 72.

ive been reading through the threads regarding fuel programmers.

My needs however are pretty simple, I'm running VH straight shots slip ons with heavy baffles, I may add a new AC at some stage.. But that's it, no desire for any other head or cam work.

Would the night rider VIED system suit this? While I have no doubt all of the tts and similar systems are great, I'm not really much of a tweaker/tuner.. It's more a matter of just having it running a little nicer (and safer regarding engine temps). And the money aspect as well.. Spending $400-$500 for a bunch of fine tuning options may be wasted features.

    Hi,

I had xieds on my wide glide for about a year, had se air intake and just slipons, the one thing i noticed with them was it stopped the low speed surging of bike, 10-30km/hr stuff as you go thru residential streets, roundabouts, parking etc

    Thanks

I was luckey enough to buy a powervision for a very good price.

A touch screen unit that can be removed from the bike or, as I have only recently done, left on the bike.
I've flashed the bike twice and havent even bothered with the auto tune. BUT...
now I have it mounted I have a full set of gauges to play with.

It shows a tacho, what gear I'm in, how much fuel I've used and can show a hell of a lot more.
You get alot for your dollar.

Oh I dont doubt the Powercommanders and visons and such are handy and useful, I just wouldn't use any of those things.. Exhaust, aircleaner, plug, play.. done.. Its my daily ride as well so I'm just looking for complete stability and smooth running.. no frills!!!

Guess I'm wondering if the X/VIEDS actually work as advertised of if theyre more of a bandaid.

I got the Xieds fitted for amount 6 months now , for the dollars I spent pretty happy with them .
I only done stage one upgrades but I will look at a tuner of some sort when I have the spare cash .
I just recently fitted cycle shack baffles to my screaming eagle slip ons , it's handling the louder less restricting baffles pretty well with only very little popping on decel
If I went again I would purchase the adjustable xieds
