Hi all.just wondering if anyone can tell me if I have a us import bike with no sounding alarm but I want to put one on it ,is it just a matter of buying the speaker part and putting it on and plugging it in ? Or much harder than this,as at the moment my bike alarm does everything except make noise.

    Yep,

Just need the speaker with built in battery back up, the mounting bracket and plug it in.

To me if you're going to buy an alarm module maybe you should look at an alarm that's non-standard? Maybe even with GPS tracking or something?

Years ago I bought a chinese alarm for $20. My stock alarm was crap - you had to bounce the bike to get it to go off - but the cheap one was adjustable and I've had it on 3 bikes :) That said, most are probably just so you're better off getting recommendations.

Oh, and as always, the ONLY alarm that will protect you bike is insurance. Bike alarms are to keep the drunks and dickheads off it.
