2014 iron 883 V&H short shots,super tuner,screaming eagle heavy breather ,flipped mirror,pegs

V&H on my new sportster is DECENTLY loud...love'm anyway.live and ride on SA roads.

Anyone had exp police pulling over for noise pollution over these non standard aftrmarkets??

NS.I dnt have any plans to go back to stock pipes anyway :-)

you can buy baffles to take the harsh bark out of them and if it is really loud its only a matter of time.

Thankz steve...but I jst wanted to know tht anyone had bad experience with cops for the similar reason??Not looking forward to minimise the growl....I love tht growl...

I have the same pipes (with baffles) and was pulled over a few weeks ago. The policeman asked if the pipes were cut and I said no.

He had another listen at idle and revs and wished me a good night...

 

Lucky u...obviously he didn't had anidea about the non standard aftermarket...

wondering how much u spent on baffles and from where  ?? DIY or installed by professional??

$140 a pair from peterstevens, free postage. Look on eBay or directly at their site.
Put them in my big shot staggered and took the edge off only if you had the wrap on them.
Running standard baffles ATM.

I have short shots on my train, I see coppers around, but they don't seem bothered. I guess if I was strapping the bike they might pull me over, but I dint get into it too much. This is in sydney, however later on the year if I move to qld that may be a different story.

I've been defected for other things but they didn't do me for the pipes. Don't know why, maybe they thought I would leave them on and then get done again at the inspection. I put them straight back on after the inspection. Have been done for speeding since and they didn't say anything about the pipes, just said nice bike, how fast does it go?? Wtf... I said it goes the speed limit on the open road....

Cheers guyz.....im planning to put quiet baffles on as I dnt wanna get pulled over and to change the whole pipe....looked up d bikes aftr they put the baffles,seems not toooo bad even though I love the original growl...

I have been told my pipes are load by many people, except the police!
They have been behind, in front and beside me.
I rarely accelerate hard, especially in town, so I don't attract attention to myself.

 

smartpartz also do baffles, they are in the US but for my V & H pro pipe it costs just under $100 USD delivered.

I bought a little commuter bike a sporty 883 Hugger yesterday which has VH short shots , fuck they are loud . Went past HWY patrol on way to work 6:30am this morning and hoped he didn't notice. No such luck. Got pulled over , licence check , blah blah , was told the pipes are ridiculously noisy and i told him i just bought the bike yesterday , even showed him the rego papers and that I'm planning on getting quieter pipes asap. Not defect or ticket but told if seen again look out.

Hell yea....they r BEAUTIFULLY loud....but those JEALOUS coppers wouldn't like tht...

Wondering wotz an EPA report referring to modifications??
