It begs the question....

What is this one for??  Read on....

So I am changing out my lubes in prep for the Snowy Ride on the weekend and have the bike on the lift doing the usual, and notice the is another "plug" on the bottom of the engine.  If the Oil Drain plug is on the rear near the swingarm, it begs the question... what is this one for?  ( See Pic)

Oh, and I would like to meet the guy the put one of the drain plugs up between the shocks, just so I can punch him right in the face!!

It can be used to find out if your engine is sumping, otherwise leave it alone, as the threads can get fucked up fairly easily. And after you smack that guy in the face, I'd like to bitch slap him. - Rob

Thanks Rob - Yeah, I didn't touch it.

Also - While we are teaching that fucker a lesson, we need to find his mate that put the gear box filler so tight under the oil tank, that you can't get to it, and kick the living shit out of him too!!

Seriously - Do they do it to piss us off?

And while you kick the shit out of that mate,,,, find these pricks other mate , that decided to put the main ground earth stud, (on touring models), below and to the left of the oil filler cap area !!!! You couldn't pick a worst location !!!! Rant over !!!!!

While we are at it... The fuckwit that put the oil filter where it is, so you get oil absolutely fucking everywhere when you pull the filter needs to be taken out the back and bashed senseless with an oil filter in a sock!!!

+1 Mong. Working on all sorts of engines you see some real senseless and totally redonculous oil filter placements.
How hard would it have been to rotate it 90 degrees and place it slightly lower so you drop it from the bottom nearer the sump?
Cost too much they say. lets save money they say. lets inconvenience everyone and they can get oil everywhere they say. pfft.

    Hey Mongrel,
Because I have a shotgun shock on my bike I can not get to the gearbox drain plug, so I use an oil extractor pump( http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Motorbike-Boat-Engine-Oil-Diesel-Fluid-Extractor-Scavenge-Transfer-Pump-12V-/201190301863?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ed7e060a7 ) , works very well and easy to use.

that is a great idea xlr8it,big job dropping them shotgun shocks down just to change oil,I'm onto that, can we make sure the bloke who designed that hose that joins the fuel tanks together under the top frame with no fuel tap on the fuel injected models (so you can't get the petrol out before undoing the hose to get the tank off, petrol everywhere )doesn't get forgotten here,id hate to think he missed out.         oh nearly forgot i have used that sump bolt hole for oil temperature sender unit for dokota digital spedo, hangs down a bit low for my liking but it works.
