G'day fella's, has anyone here got experience with the Ultima 2" open belt primary drive?  I'm keen on getting one but I'm confused about the kit.  I have a 2005 Softail Standard, my understanding is the backing plate bolts up without the necessity of spacing the transmission from the engine, is that correct?  What I don't understand is this, "The Ultima belt drive system requires the use of a 1989 - 1993 type starter drive shaft which utilises the larger 1/4 - 20 fastener". Do I have to source a 1989 - 1993 starter drive shaft and modify to suit?

They are a Direct Bolt on to your Bike and you can use your Stock Stater motor, How much are you paying for one ?

G'day walka, thanks for the info.  They're available for $850 + $55 postage USD off flea bay,  I haven't committed as yet.  Even though I live in the Pilbara in the wild West I'm worried the bike will get defected & I've blown a grand.....
